Now that American Idol has chosen it’s top 13 finalists for Season 10, it is a must that we get to know the only Hispanic on the list, New Yorker Karen Rodriguez.
The Washington Heights native who is half Puerto Rican and half Dominican submitted her AI audition via MySpace in hopes of becoming the first Hispanic American Idol winner, and she is well on her way there!!
Karen, 21, who has been singing since elementary school has already competed on the Puerto Rican talent show, Objetiva Fama and even had the chance to perform for Judge Jennifer Lopez on MTV’s now retired show TRL.
Watch out J-Lo!!!! Keeping true to her NY Hispana ways, Karen already has her eye set on Jennifer Lopez’ hubby (well sorta), Karen says, ”Marc Anthony stops by sometimes and he gives me hugs and thumbs up, he’s another one of my idols. If there is someone who I would love to sing with and do a duet with, it would be him.”
