Beyonce Finally Addresses Surrogacy And Prostethic Belly Rumors

No other pregnancy was surrounded by more countless rumors, than that of Beyonce Knowles‘.
But now PEOPLE’s 2012 Most Beautiful Woman finally speaks on being caught off guard when folks began to speculate that her pregnancy was a total fake, and that she and husband Jay-Z had used a surrogate to carry their daughter.
“That was crazy. It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy,” Bey,30, tells PEOPLE. “[I thought] ‘Where did they come up with this?’”
But the person who seems most affected by the surrogacy rumors was not even the expectant mom herself, but her mother, Tina Knowles. “I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months,” says Blue’s grandmother. ”As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous.”
As to that the footage of her Australian interview in which we all saw what seemed to be Bey’s pregnant stomach collapse, she says, “It was a fabric that folded — does fabric not fold? Oh my gosh, so stupid.”
Being the positive mother/daughter combo they are, the Knowles ladies decided to ignore the negative rumors and focus instead on the singer’s global fan following offered plenty of support. “There was so much love and well wishes from all over the world” says Tina. “It made it easier to deal with the stupid rumors.”
The one last rumor Beyonce clarifies are reports that during her hospital stay for the birth of baby Blue, they had upset the hospital with their wild list of security demands — a rumor which she calls “so crazy” and “ridiculous.”
