Kim Kardashian: “Yes, My Sex Tape Introduced Me To The World”

Five years after her sex tape with ex-boyfriend Ray J was released, Kim Kardashian says she understands that this had a great impact on her career.
“Would you be where you are had there not been a sex tape?” Oprah asked Kimmi on Sunday’s Oprah’s Next Chapter.
“You know, I think that’s how I was definitely introduced to the world. It was a negative way, so I felt like I really had to work ten times harder to get people to see the real me” the 31-year-old reality star said of the sex tape, which she brokered a deal with Vivid Entertainment to distribute it.
She goes on to shut down that nasty little rumor that she in fact was the one who released the tape, saying that she’s always been concerned about “humiliating the family”. When it was released, she said, she turned to her mom, panicked. It was a “really bad day” mom Kris Jenner recalls. “No mother ever wants to hear something like that,” Kris said earlier in the interview. “I could tell she was in a lot of pain.”
Kim says that she has now learned to embrace the sex tape that landed her fame. “I have to live with the choices I have made,” she said. “And I can’t dwell on it.”
