Rodney King Found Dead At Bottom Of Pool

The man at the center of the Los Angeles riots, was found dead on Sunday morning. Rodney King was 47-years-old.
Rialto, California Police Sgt. Paul Stella tells PEOPLE that Rodney’s fiance called police at 5:25 a.m. to say that she heard a splash only to come out of the couple’s home to find Rodney dead at the bottom of their pool. She goes on to say that she jumped into the pool in an attempt to try to save him, but was unable to do so because she was not a strong swimmer.
Although police officers pulled him out of the water and administered CPR, they were unable to revive the ‘Celebrity Rehab’ star who was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:11 a.m.
Detectives are now conducting a drowning investigation, but there hasn’t been an official ruling on cause of death.
