The duo who was linked earlier in the summer, are no longer dating, a source confirms to PEOPLE. “They’ll end up as friends,” the source says. “They were honestly having fun. People made it out to be far more than it was.”
“They almost acted like they’ve been a couple for a long time,” the observer told PEOPLE. “It definitely didn’t seem like a new relationship.”
Katy, who recently divorced from Russell Brand, also dated Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd earlier this year.
And John…………..well he’s dated almost everyone over in Hollywood: Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston, Minka Kelly, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt….shall we continue? We didn’t think so.
